Reply with quote | #2 | Hey Red,
This is DebAnn. Count me in. Have trailer, will travel. I've only known Stanley for about 10 years, but I could always bet on a warm welcome and a big smile from him. You couldn't help but give him a big old hug. Tell him he's got another one coming when I see him.
Later-Later

Reply with quote | #3 | Lifted from Bracket Racing in Texas web site -
I talked to Stan this evening, and he sounded better than he has in years. I don't know if it's just because we've been so worried about him, and he's been in such bad shape for so long, but man tonight when I talked with him on the phone he was just full of energy.
He is back home now, and he just needs to keep doing his therapy which you can tell he is more than willing to do. He worked hard to be able to get home early. If they told him to do twenty reps in therapy, he did twenty five. So with that kind of motivation and determination, it won't be long until he's back on the starting line with us.
He definitely wanted to make sure I thanked everyone who donated to him. He was shocked that so many people cared for him. The money definitely helped since he was sole source of income for his home. He's still going to be out of work for a while, so if you would still like to donate, you can find the information on the front page of our website. There are also a couple of fundraisers still in the works to be held at Little River Dragway. One is going to be held October 31st, where a portion of the gate proceeds will be donated to Stan, and then the racers are putting together a fundraiser for him on the weekend of Nov. 7th and 8th where we will be selling bar-b-que. All donations will be going directly to Stan. Thanks again to everyone who has given and shown concern for Stan and his family during this time. Your thoughts, prayers and generosity have been appreciated more than you know. __________________ shovelheads rule!!!1 |
